Stephen Hicks is Professor of Philosophy at Rockford University in Rockford, Illinois, Executive Director at the Center for Ethics and Entrepreneurship, and also a Senior Scholar at the Atlas Society. Hicks has written many books including, Explaining Postmodernism: Skepticism and Socialism from Rousseau and Foucault and Nietzsche and the Nazis. He is also a part of the new Peterson Academy, a University started by Jordan Peterson.
In this episode, Stephen and I discuss the purpose of education and how to apply that purpose within different mediums. We talk about the difference in online learning and in-person learning and the potential downsides and upsides of online universities. We also talk about the fundamental link between moral ethics and education - is education morally neutral? Finally, we touch on the topics of evolution, Calvinism, and transhumanism.
